Privacy Policy

1. Information we collect

We collect only what we need to run the games:

• Account details you give us: email address, password (stored only as a salted hash), nickname, country, and the language, time zone and avatar you choose.
• Gameplay data: the pools you create or join, your predictions and picks, and the standings and season history generated from them.
• Support messages: anything you send us through the contact form or the in-app Help screen, together with your name and email address.
• Technical data: your IP address (used briefly for security and rate limiting), an approximate country derived from your IP so we can pick a default language on your first visit, basic server logs, and — only if you turn on push notifications — a device notification token.
• Payment data: if you buy an ad-removal subscription, the payment is handled by the app store or our payment processor. We receive only your subscription status and a customer reference, never your full card details.

2. How we use your data

• To create and secure your account and provide the prediction games.
• To run competitions, calculate scores and maintain standings and history.
• To send you account emails (verification, password resets, security) and gameplay emails you have not opted out of (prediction reminders, results).
• To respond to your support requests.
• To detect, prevent and investigate abuse, cheating and fraud.
• To comply with legal obligations.
• With your consent, to send occasional product news. You can opt out at any time.

3. Legal bases

Where the GDPR or similar laws apply, we rely on: performance of our contract with you (to provide the service), our legitimate interests (to keep the service secure and improve it), your consent (for product news and push notifications), and compliance with legal obligations.

4. Cookies and similar technologies

We use only what the site needs to work: a cookie that remembers your language choice, and, in the app, a token that keeps you signed in. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies today. If we introduce ads in future, we will update this policy and, where required, ask for your consent first.

5. Sharing your data

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with:

• Service providers who host and operate the platform on our behalf — our cloud hosting and database provider, our email delivery provider, the mobile push services (Apple and Google), and our payment processor. They may process data only on our instructions.
• Our football data provider, which supplies fixtures and results and receives no personal data from us.
• Authorities or third parties where we are legally required to, or to protect our rights, users or the public.
• A successor entity if we are involved in a merger, acquisition or asset sale, subject to this policy.

6. International transfers

Our providers may process data in countries outside your own. Where we transfer personal data internationally we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.

7. How long we keep it

When you delete your account we remove your predictions, pool memberships and standings. We may retain a minimal record where the law requires it.

• Account and gameplay data: for as long as your account exists.
• Season results history: retained after a season ends as a permanent record of past competitions, linked to your account.
• Support tickets: for a limited period after the request is resolved.
• Notification logs: about 90 days.
• Backups: cycled out on a rolling basis.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. You can update most details yourself in Settings, and delete your account from Settings. To make any other request, contact us using the details below. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

9. Children

LeaguePredict is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Security

We protect your data with hashed passwords, encryption in transit, and access controls. No online service can be completely secure, but we work to keep your data safe and will notify you and the authorities of a breach where the law requires.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If the changes are material we will let you know through the app or by email. The date below shows when it was last revised.
